Sukrit Ranjan

Assistant Professor, College of Science, Lunar and Planetary Lab

He is a theorist and modeler who focuses on questions related to the origin of life here on Earth and the search for life on other planets.  Uses observations of other planets to help test theories of the prebiotic environment and of abiogenesis while using the understanding of the origin of life on Earth to guide research elsewhere in the cosmos.

He works to constrain the palette of environmental conditions from which life arose on each to understand abiogenesis.  Determines observational tests by which life on other worlds may be remotely discriminated. Obtains critical measurements of fundamental physico-chemical parameteres.
