Marcia J. Rieke
Regents Professor, Astronomy
Her research includes infrared observations fo the center of the Milky Way and other galatic nuclei, as well as observation of the infrared sky at as faint a level as possible to study distant galaxies. She has characterized and developed large-format, low-noise infrared detector arrays.
She served as Deputy PI on NICMOS (the NEar Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer for the Hubble Space Telescope).
Research Interests
Distant galaxies, exoplanets, infrared light sensors, Milky Way, galactic nuclei
