Next Gen STEM Workshop 101

We welcome you to apply to attend an in-person Next Gen STEM (NGS) 101 Workshop. Sixth-eighth grade level educators that serve underserved student populations are invited to apply for this unique opportunity to learn about NASA-specific resources; gain experience implementing activities and the engineering design process; and network with other Southern Arizona educators. Participants will learn how to implement what they learn in the NGS 101 Workshop as well as resources in Southern Arizona that apply to the workshop. A limited number of spots are available.
A stipend of $300 will be awarded to selected applicants that complete all requirements for the workshop, including pre-and post-workshop requirements.
Ten Southern Arizona educators not located in the Tucson-metro area will be provided an additional $220 to cover two nights hotel expenses.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
• U.S. Citizen
• 6th – 8th Grade Classroom Educator
• Able to travel to Tucson, AZ and attend the workshop in-person
• Complete pre- and post-workshop requirements
• Attend pre-workshop webinar
• Complete pre-workshop paperwork
• Join NASA CONNECTS and the NGS 101 group
• Be active within the NGS 101 group
• Develop an implementation plan
for two NGS activities
